Four steps · About six minutes per show

How to play The Choicer Voicer.

Choose a lineup, test the microphone, copy four short performances, and compare five computer-judge votes on the final board.

Quick walkthrough

Complete one show from start to finish.

A show draws four scenes from the 16-scene reel. Local multiplayer uses the same device and microphone; it is not an online lobby.

1

Choose the lineup

Select solo or local multiplayer. For two to four players, enter names in the order that the device will be passed.

2

Run sound check

Press the microphone button, grant permission, and speak normally. Continue only when the input meter responds.

3

Listen, then perform

Play the full reference, notice its pauses and pitch direction, then record one take. Replay or retry before scoring.

4

Reveal the panel

See timing, energy, and pitch feedback plus five votes. Continue through all four scenes to reach the leaderboard.

Detailed rules

Set up the microphone before the first scene

Use headphones when possible, turn media volume on, and keep the microphone about a hand’s width from the speaker. The browser asks for permission only after a button press. If permission was previously denied, change the site setting beside the address bar and reload.

Listen for performance shape, not just words

The game compares overall duration, loud–soft movement, and rising or falling pitch. Memorizing every word helps, but matching the pauses and emotional arc usually matters more than forcing your voice into an uncomfortable register.

Understand the three score signals

  • Timing, 25%: overall length, pacing, and pauses.
  • Energy, 35%: changes between quieter and louder moments.
  • Pitch, 40%: the direction and contour of voiced notes.

Five judge profiles weight those signals differently. A high similarity can earn five approvals, while an exceptional result can trigger the playful 6/5 outcome.

Finish solo and multiplayer shows

Solo players perform every selected scene. In local multiplayer, each player hears and performs the same scene before the game advances. The final board compares all completed rounds on that device.

Common problems

The reference will not play

Disable silent mode, raise media volume, and open the page in a full browser instead of an embedded social-media browser.

The input meter does not move

Confirm the intended microphone is selected, close other apps using it, and retry the sound check. A wired or Bluetooth headset may expose a different input.

The score looks unexpectedly low

Use headphones to prevent speaker audio from leaking into the take, keep the device still, and imitate the reference pauses before focusing on vocal character.
